mixing tips
Mise En Place
- Keep all equipment and ingredients within range. It will be easier and faster to mix the drink.
Glassware
- A chilled glass keeps your drink longer and more enjoyable. Your used ice will melt slower, and the taste will stay longer.
Technique
- You can use the Spoon to combine the ingredients better. After, you add the ice. But be careful that it will not splash out of the glass while adding it.
- Be careful with adding spices and seasonings to a drink. It might be better that you use first a lesser amount of it. After tasting, you can always add more. If you can, give the spice or seasoning on the side of the drink, so the guest can choose his preference.
Garnish
- Always use fresh vegetables for the garnish.

editor recipe notes
There are so many versions of the Bloody Mary out there.
For us, it was interesting to use some of the growing ingredients at “HYGGE- the farm” in Hamburg.
They are growing tomatoes, jalapenos, mint, cucumber, and a lot of other cool stuff.
We decided to distill some of the jalapenos and some cucumber. We did it in cooperation with the Drilling Bar and Distillery close by.
What was the best way to use Cucumber and Jalapenos? Correct, just spice up your bloody Mary.
Add acidity, tomato juice, and spices, and you will get a beautiful version of this classic drink.
