Mojito Version 1 mixed by MyBeverageGuide

This Mojito is a refreshing bubbly style of the Mojito version that we like to shake.

ingredients

  • 60 ml
    Santiago de Cuba Rum Carta Blanca (Rum)
  • 80 ml
    Schweppes Soda Water (Lemonades)
  • 15 ml
    simple syrup (1:1) homemade (sugar syrup)
  • 1 whole
    lime (Fruits and Vegetables)
  • 1 handful
    mint leaves fresh (Herb)
how to mix:
  1. Cut the lime into quarters.
  2. Place the cut lime into the shaker and muddle it.
  3. Add all other remaining ingredients (except the carbonated filler!) into the shaker.
  4. Add ice cubes.
  5. Shake for about 20 seconds.
  6. Double-Strain the mixed liquid into the chilled serving glass with no ice.
  7. Add ice cubes.
  8. Stir for about 5 seconds.
  9. Pour the carbonated filler into the serving glass. You can also measure it before with the jigger.
  10. Add your garnish.

detailed mixing instructions

  1. Prepare your bottle setup.
  2. Prepare your Mise en Place.
  3. Chill the serving glass with either crushed ice or ice cubes. Or place it in a fridge or freezer.
  4. Prepare your garnish.
  5. Cut the lime into quarters.
  6. Muddle the cut fruit in the shaker.
  7. Add all other remaining ingredients (except the carbonated filler!) into the shaker.
  8. Add ice cubes.
  9. Shake for about 20 seconds.
  10. Take the chilled glass out of the fridge/freezer. If you used ice to chill the serving glass, remove everything from the glass.
  11. Double-Strain into the serving glass.
  12. Add ice cubes.
  13. Stir for about 5 seconds.
  14. Pour the carbonated filler into the serving glass. You can also measure it before with the jigger.
  15. Add your garnish.

You must find your way through the library of Mojito cocktail recipes. There are so many versions of the Mojito out there. But we prefer this recipe.

We like this one because it’s clean, there is no mint inside the glass, but you can still taste it. It requires a little more time to prepare, but it’s worth drinking. It’s minty fresh and cool.

The weird thing is that we do a shake on this Mojito recipe. And yes, we know you “should not” shake a mojito cocktail. However, we do it as we do and still use all the ingredients:
Rum, Mint, Lime, Sugar, and Soda Water.
