About this publication

The book

Trend Drinks, with photographs by Oliver Schwarzwald and published by Edition Styria in 2011, is a German-language cocktail book. After a foreword on the four elements of a drink (citrus, bitter, fruit and sweetness) it has four chapters of drinks: herb cocktails, alcohol-free wellness drinks, tea infused long drinks, and fragrance drinks inspired by perfumes. A closing chapter gives recipes for the spirit infusions, syrups, an orange liqueur and a house bitter, followed by notes on the spirits, spices, lemonades and teas used, a list of suppliers, a glossary and an index.
Why this stands outIt shows how to build a drink around a plant, a tea or a scent, with the homemade infusions and syrups written out, and it is one of the few cocktail books to give alcohol-free drinks the same care; the guide draws on it for its articles and for the recipes it publishes with permission.
