SLYRS Bavarian RYE

With the Bavarian RYE the whisky pioneers from the Schliersee give their own take on the original American whisky. Rye, the ‘Bavarian ancient grain’, makes a sweetish malt that dominates the mash, supported by the two minority grains barley and wheat, so the whisky differs clearly from the SLYRS single malt. It is light golden yellow, smells very fruity of ripe fruit with a light cinnamon note, tastes mild with a well-integrated sweetish-spicy note and a slight bitterness of liquorice, cinnamon and allspice, and finishes long, subtly dry and lightly peppery. SLYRS serves it neat and only lightly chilled. 41 % vol, 0.7 l.
