About this bottle

The product

The Gräfenberg is first documented in 1109. Its great career began at the end of the 19th century, when Rhine Rieslings enjoyed the highest reputation, and the classifications of that time always ranked it at the top. Today this VDP.Grosse Lage, with its textbook ‘Grand Cru’ terroir, is seen by the international wine world as a beacon and a great classic. Its soil, rich in phyllite and interspersed with loess loam, gives the vineyard an ideal, balanced water supply. In the glass it shows a perfect symbiosis of mineral drive and lasting texture, which gives it a particular potential to age over many decades. The grapes see varied skin-contact times, ferment spontaneously in a traditional 2,400-litre Doppelstück cask, and the wine then rests on its full lees without sulphur until filtration. Vintage 2024, VDP.Grosse Lage, organic, dry, 12.5 % vol. Contains sulphites.
