Erdener Treppchen Riesling Spätlese

The red, iron-rich slate of the Erdener Treppchen gives its Rieslings a spicy, almost peppery minerality that sets them clearly apart from the finer neighbouring Ürziger Würzgarten. In the Spätlese the Treppchen shows its full strength: a play of concentrated fruit, fine sweetness and gripping, lively acidity. Ripe aromas of peach, apricot, red apple skin and a little citrus zest join a mineral depth typical of red slate, while the texture stays slender and elegant — never heavy, always dancing and refined. A partner for mild to medium-spicy Thai curry, foie gras and blue cheese, served at 8-10 °C. Vintage 2022, VDP.Grosse Lage, residual-sweet, 8 % vol. Contains sulphites.
